About Poseidon
Poseidon is building the data network for AI. Backed by a16z, we source, refine, and license high quality, rights cleared training data so that the people and institutions who create valuable data share in the value it produces. We believe the next decade of AI will be bottlenecked not by compute or models, but by access to proprietary, high signal data, and we are building the rails to unlock it.
Korea sits at the center of this thesis. The country holds some of the world's most valuable proprietary datasets, spanning longitudinal clinical records, consumer behavior, and industrial and entertainment IP, alongside an unusually dense ecosystem of ambitious founders and globally significant enterprises. We are looking for someone to drive Poseidon's deals on the ground here.
The Role
This is an execution role for an operator who can take a relationship from first meeting to signed agreement and live partnership. The senior level introductions are already in place; what we need is someone who can carry them through to closing, structuring the deal, aligning every stakeholder, and getting it executed.
You will work alongside leadership across business development, product, and communications, equally at home structuring terms with a founder one morning and presenting to a conglomerate's executive committee the same afternoon. You will not inherit a playbook. You will write one.
What You'll Do
Take data partnerships from first conversation to signed agreement and live execution, owning structuring, negotiation, and close across both the supply side (companies and institutions with proprietary data) and the demand side (enterprises, pharma, and AI labs that want it).
Deepen and convert relationships across Korea's top consumer and technology platforms and major conglomerates, building on access already established at the leadership level.
Translate Poseidon's product and technical vision into deal terms, working hand in hand with product and engineering to shape what we build for the Korean market.
Drive how Poseidon shows up in Korea, partnering on PR, positioning, and narrative for local press, partners, and investors.
Quarterback execution across functions and time zones, aligning legal, product, engineering, and global leadership to turn signed deals into operational reality.
What We're Looking For
10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, corporate development, or a comparable deal driven role.
A proven closer. You have personally negotiated, closed, and executed meaningful partnerships or transactions, and you are measured by what gets signed and shipped, not by meetings taken.
A bias for zero to one. You are energized by ambiguity and building from scratch, not optimizing a machine someone else already built.
A strong command of business development, product, and communications, and the judgment to know which lever to pull when.
The credibility and presence to hold your own across the table from CEOs and C suite executives, from startups to conglomerates, once the introduction is made.
Fully bilingual in Korean and English, able to operate natively in both business cultures.
A track record of working across teams, aligning product, legal, engineering, and leadership toward a shared goal.
Startup experience. You know what it feels like to operate with limited resources and high stakes.
Genuine hunger. You take ownership, move fast, and do whatever it takes to win.
Real interest in AI and a point of view on where the technology is going.
Bonus Points
Management consulting background, or comparable training in structured problem solving.
An existing network across the Korean startup, enterprise, or investor landscape.
Experience in data, IP, healthcare, or frontier technology markets.
Why Poseidon
You will inherit top level access across the most important market for the future of AI data, with the mandate to convert it into signed, executed partnerships and the backing of a world class team and investors. The doors are open. We are looking for the person who can walk through them and close.
